In the 1950s, Enrico Mattei commissioned architect Edoardo Gellner to build a holiday village for his employees in the Dolomites: the creation of a social experiment that Mattei wanted to translate into Italian society, tragically interrupted by his death. The film reveals unpublished images from the Gellner Archive and through his drawings, models and 16 mm films tells us about the extraordinary modernity of an architect who was a forerunner of his time and perhaps too asymmetrical to be fully understood.

The documentary film tells the story of Enrico Mattei and Edoardo Gellner’s social and architectural experiment in the Dolomites. Through archive images, drawings and films, the extraordinary modernity of a visionary project emerges.
